    Default Bent Rotring Lissabon nib

I am looking for either a way to bring a nib back from its near demise or replace it with a new one.

A six yr old decided to push the tip into the table top and the tip bent. I was able to straighten it a bit; and it works after a fashion, but I don’t want to bend on it any more if there is a nib whisperer.

Conversely, if someone knows of a replacement nib, I am more than willing to purchase one. I tried this once already, unfortunately the nib I purchased was sooo much smaller.

    Ideas?

There are nibmeisters who can fix your original nib, or, depending on what material it's made from, it may be less expensive to buy a replacement.
It depends to a degree on whereabouts in the world you are.

Most of the Rotring nibs were push fit, similar to the Lamy Safari. If you can get it out, it should be easy to straighten.

Just soak the nib section in water for a day or so to loosen the dried ink first before pulling the nib.

Hi Chrissy, I am in the US and have not found a replacement yet, though I have ordered several from different companies. Can you recommend a good nib repairer for me?

Whych, I removed it easily enough and using a variety of fly tying tools I have straightened it a bit; however, I am afraid of going much further. Any guesses where I may find a replacement?

The best way is to see if you can find a cheap Rotring that uses a similar nib you can use - either the complete pen or just the nib section.
An example of one is this on ebay UK: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-r...EAAOSw3A9dLiNO

You may find it cheaper to look at ebay.de.

Pictures would help us see how badly bent the nib is. I've straightened a few back into writing condition with just jewelry pliers and a wooden dowel, so if the nib is already shot, you could give it a try.

What size nibs does this Rötring model take? Bear in mind a nib of the same size (let's pretend it's a #5) may not correctly fit the curve of the feed.

    Hope this helps.
My other pen is a Montblanc.

Is this a steel nib? I find it very hard to remove the last traces of having been bent from a steel nib. I would recommend looking for a replacement. Good luck! I'm sure you'll find one with patience.
