I've also seen it called the Young Profit... does anyone know when Sailor started making this model and if it has had other designations as well over the years?

The Young Profit has flat ends, like the Pro Gear. The 1911 (the standard size, which is sometimes called the 1911 Profit) has rounded, torpedo-shaped ends. Also, 1911 nibs are either 14k or 21k gold, while the Young Profit has a stainless steel nib. I'm not sure there's any such thing as a 1911 Young Profit, but Sailor does use multiple names for the same model sometimes, so it is a bit confusing and I might be wrong.
