Here is a BIG vintage faceted red and black woodgrain hard rubber pen with a No. 8 gold nib. This is a vintage "Edison Pen Company" lever-filler with gold-filled ends on the barrel and cap. (Note that it long predates the current Edison Pen Co. operated by Brian Gray.) I've had three of these pens from the same manufacturer but with different brand markings: Edison Pen Company, Waverly's Pen Co. and Bay State Pen Co. The former two are still in my collection (a woodgrain and a black) while the third was acquired by a Chilton collector because of the manufacturer's apparent connection with Chilton in Boston. Since then, I've heard other theories about these big faceted pens with gold ends. This pen's cap lip had a professional repair before it came into my possession, and though a closer woodgrain match would be nice, the repair method was top-notch. Did I mention it's a big pen?
