Default Pilot Varsity Pen's ink? Esp purple

    Hi,

I am wondering if anyone knows what the inks used in the disposable Pilot Varsity pens are, and if they are available for purchase anywhere? I like the purple a lot for grading, but the bright pink, turquoise and green could be good for some variety too.

Aside, I really don't like the looks of these pens, I wish they looked plainer, that harlequin pattern just doesn't do it for me. Plain black would be much nicer, or some other, less childish look. Just MHO

This question has arisen before, and the final consensus was that Pilot does not use high-quality "named" inks in the Varsities, altho the inks that they do use are quite adequate for the job. I wrote all seven of mine (the multi-colored set) dry and then refilled them with named inks, mostly Iroshizukus, altho I did put Noodler's Apache Sunset in the pink one
    In my mug: Sailor 21 P-P M, Cross Solo M, Online Calligraphy, Monteverde Invincia F, Hero 359 M, Jinhao X450 M, Levenger T-W M, Jinhao 159 , Platinum Balance F, TWSBI Classic 1.1, Platinum Preppy 0.3 F, 7 Pilot Varsities, Speedball penholder, TWSBI 580 USA EF, Pilot MR, Ahab 1.1, another Preppy 0.3, Preppy EF 0.2, ASA Sniper F, Click Majestic F, Kaweco Sport M, Pilot Prera F, Baoer 79 M, Hero 616 M, Jinhao X750

Pilot sells purple ink cartridges. No idea if it's the same ink in the Varsity pens.

Thanks .. I'll take a look. Doesn't even have to be the Pilot purple, but something equivalent in color
