I have tried to join with no success. Now I see a notification that no new applications to join the network are being accepted at this time. Can anyone tell me what the issue is?

Perhaps you were rated as “unmutual”.

Have you tried creating an email address at one of their preferred domains?

Any idea as to what domains would be on their preferred list?

Hmmm, they previously had a statement up that blackballed all the widely available free email providers as the refuges of scammers and asked you to register with alternate email addresses. I can’t immediately find that notice at the moment.

There is only one person who can approve registration at FPN and I haven't heard from him or seen a post by him in about six months. Nor has he answered any of my Personal Messages.

That suggests loss of interest and perhaps impending change of ownership, if it has any marketable value. Merely speculating.

I tried and tried to join to no avail. I tried to communicate with the administrators who wouldn't respond. I received a bounceback email that told me to visit a site and correct the problems with my email address. I went to the site and the site told me that there were no problems with my email address. I tried to communicate with the administrators again. Then saw a message on the site that said people who wanted to join but had been rejected had to get a new email which is when I decided to abandon my efforts to join that site.
