    Default Nemosine Sale

    https://www.nemosine.com/

Nice sale at Nemosine. They have the Knox Plato pens for 8$ each with choices of German nibs. I bought one on a chance a few weeks ago and have been very happy. With a 1.1 stub it writes as well as most other pens.

I ordered 3 more today in assorted nibs for gifts.

They also have "German" nibs in various point1 on sale for $7.49 in #5 and #6. I bought a broad and 1.1 stub a few weeks ago and they're as good as branded JoWo nibs (and may be JoWo nibs). I also ordered several more of those nibs in#5 and #6.

I also took a chance on some of their inks at $6 for 60ml.

Just wanted to pass this information along in case anyone's interested.

    Cheers.

I got a set of Nemosine stubs (0.6, 0.8, 1.1) last time they were on sale. I like them a lot.

Currently Birmingham Pens is offering the same nibs for just a little less — $7. I've ordered a few more.

Have you tried the Birmingham inks? That seems to be what Nemosine is selling at 6 dollars for 60ml.

I haven't. The ones that interest me are currently out of stock. They've switched manufacture from Germany to the US and it's taking a while to replicate the colours.

I bought the Imperial Blue though it seems heavily purple. For 6 bucks it's worth a try.

Given how many appear to be sold out... are they liquidating or something?

It's interesting that there's no information about the inks other than the story behind the name. That doesn't inspire confidence and seems a poor marketing decision from my viewpoint.

Noodlers Inks have interesting names and stories as well as characteristics. Buying ink for the name doesn't work for me. Knowing the characteristics of the ink and seeing reviews from users helps inform my buying decisions.

There are interesting inks on the site, but without more information, I won't be buying any.

The one bottle of Imperial Blue I ordered from Nemosine might be it.

I believe the names are people and places with local connections. Some reviewers mentioned that. Still, anyone can tack an interesting name and backstory onto an ink — I look at the colour first.

There's a bunch of Birmingham ink reviews over in the other place: http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/fo...f-ink-reviews/

Thanks for this information. I got my Knox Plato pen this week with a fine nib and some ink. Love it.

After my first order, I placed another one immediately. Three more Knox Plato pens for gifts (with 1.1 stubs), two bottles of Imperial Blue ink which is gorgeous bluish-purple, a Prussian Blue, Blue Black, and Royal Blue, plus more 1.1 nibs (i suspect they're JoWo and they write great).

I received the inks yesterday. The Prussian Blue is a blue-grey, the Blue-Black is very dark, and the Royal Blue is blue without being garish as some blues can be, or as bright blue as Liberty's Elysium. All three are very nice, wet, and no trouble in Ahabs, ebonites, Conklins, or Broad italic cursive nib Churchman.

    For 6 bucks for 60 ml, they're a bargain.

Did a water test. 45 minute soak at a slight angle to keep the names and original colors.

From top: Blue Black, Royal Blue, Prussian Blue, Imperial Blue.

Bottom inks: ESSRI, Noodler Black, Noodler Walnut.

Not water-resistant, but still attractive inks.

Coincidentally, I got my first Nemosine last week a used pen with the 0.8mm stub. I love this nib! I went to their site and ordered a couple of them, and an 0.6mm. I should be able to fit them into a Jowo housing and use them in a bunch of my pens.

The owners of Nemosine and Birmingham are brothers. Birmingham wants to concentrate more on making pens. Eventually Nemosine will be the maker of Birmingham inks. So essentially the two companies are merging.

That's what I've been told. I dont know if it's right. Someone could correct me if they need to.
