    Default MB 234 1/2

I had been looking for a 4 sized vintage MB because although i like the nib on my 1950s 146G, i begin to notice its weight when i'm writing with it for an extended time. I ended up with a 234 1/2 which seems to be a popular vintage MB. I think this is a fifties version, with the gold nib and what i think is a non-telescoping piston. (I haven't opened it up) It's marked "234 1/2" and "BB" on the blind cap.

Gorgeous pen, this is my favourite MB era for practical and useful pens, I had a 236 which was really nice to use, yet another pen that I regret selling.

Indeed one of the best models to begin Montblanc vintage pens collection from the 50s.
You would be interested to get 234 1/2 with the popular bowtie/ hourglass clip ( pic attached)

It just adds an unique character to the pen.

I'm mostly a nib guy -- the a soft BB nib is my sweet spot -- but i do like the bow-tie clip. That's the luxury L model, no?

Absolutely, "Nib" is the soul of the pen IMHO.

Yes it's the luxury model, it was produced with the PL (Platinum lines) model as well ( a grail pen for sure).

My 234½s are among the few Montblancs I kept.

Jar, what's the one next to the Pelikan? A 146?

And does anyone know of a good reference that includes info on the 234 1/2?

I think that's one of my 144s not one of my celluloid 146s.
