    Default Esterbrook Dollar Pencil

This is a new discovery for me. I was not aware Esterbrook Dollar Pencils did exist, although I do now. I will post more when it arrives.

The Dollar Pencil arrived with original eraser (hard as a rock) and lead. This pencil has the 1938 clip. The inscription on the pencil says "PRESIDENT'S MONTH MARCH CONTINUITY"

For the photo I have a 1932 Esterbrook and a 1938 Esterbrook pen. My dates are just the clip design as I have no idea the exact age.

Autopoint 1.1mm lead refill leads work well in this era Esterbrook mechanical pencil.

Nice pencil, as useful as the day it was made.

Esterbrook pencils came in 0.046" and 0.036" lead size. Most are marked on the metal barrel and can be seen with the cap removed.

No markings on this early rubber version. I used a caliper and a little research. I've learned of a celluloid Dollar in blue. It will be a gift to my oldest. She prefers pencils and 9mm and has a later j and a early 51.

Incoming Blue $ Pencil. I'll send it to my daughter who has the pen to match.
