    Default Pen Rest

A few weeks ago I found a brass fly from my mother's home that I'd had for years. Raise the wing and it's hollow. I was told these things were used to keep salt on the table.

I glued a small piece of shelf lining to the wing above the hinge to protect the pen and keep it from slipping, added a little roll of paper towel, and now I have a pen rest and blotter.

I love making one thing into another.Brass Fly pen rest ol.jpgFly pen rest 2 ol.jpgfly pen rest 3 ol.jpg

I'm sorry, what were you saying? I was completely distracted by the rocker blotter!

Bought that rocker blotter about 15 years ago from Sam at Pendemonium. Someone did a good job with marbled paints in water (at least that what I think it is).

How about that: the one I have is from them, as well.

Sam and Frank always have interesting items and what I consider fair prices. It's the only place I can get Noodler Legal Lapis which I've been using for 15 years. They're knowledgable and happy to help whether you're new to pens or an old hat.

On top of that, I think they're very decent and good people. I always steer people to them just for the good vibes they put out.

    Cheers, Jon.
