Something else you could do while you're at home is to compile a spreadsheet of all of your inks.

After a FPG member sent me a copy of her ink list spreadsheet, I decided to write my own.

Bearing in mind that I currently have many ink sample vials, I somehow managed to get up to 400 items on my list. That needs a serious cull.

Just been outside to feed the birds and top up the birdbath. The man next door is a doctor who must have not been taking his own advice, I have just heard him coughing whilst he was in his garden, he sounded horrendous. The man on the other side was playing Little Sir Echo to the doctor, I disappeared asap.

Some indoor pasttimes seem like a good idea.

We also have someone who coughs all of the time while he's in his garden. On the other hand he smokes so I always believed that to be the source of his cough.
I was outside getting some vitamin D sunshine onto my arms yesterday and could hear the guy coughing just beyond the bottom of my garden. I stayed away.....

Online arguments are a lot like the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
As soon as the audience begins to participate, any actual content is lost in the resulting chaos and cacophony.
At that point, all you can do is laugh and enjoy the descent into debasement.

Three of us have been playing Clue (USA version) and Cluedo (UK version) more times the last week than in the previous decade. Original Clue wins out. The Cluedo board and pieces are a nightmare to use and lacks the strategy and simplicity of Clue. (Two of us are dual-Brit/Yanks, so the opinion is unbiased.) I wish we still had a Parcheesi board. There's always the chess set.

Same here, partly because I always ended up outside the lines. I guess I didn't stick with it long enough to learn the lessons of concentration and physical coordination.

I am doing a fair amount of drawing. The difficulties I have make it clear that this too makes demands on physical coordination. But it interests me in a way that filling in somebody else's drawing or pattern does not.

Doing a lot of reading, but then, I generally do a lot of reading.

Doing crossword puzzles, from books, at levels which are challenging for me, so yes, I use pencil.

The only TV I get is online streaming comment. I've been meaning to watch more Netflix and Amazon Prime to justify the subscription price, but I just can't get into it lately, at least if I want to leave time for reading and drawing.

And walking. It's possible to go for walks around here while maintaining one's distance. I think I'll make that another post.

I don't understand how one can get bored in isolation (unless maybe you are strapped into a hospital bed). We have been holed up in the house and grounds for three weeks now and can't seem to find time to fit everything into the day. Last fall I was walking in the woods off the trail (don't tell the park ranger) and found where a predator had killed and eaten a wild turkey. I got a lot of feathers for quill pens and enough to fletch a couple dozen arrows. Then there are radios to build, books to read, music to make, garden to dig in, a telescope to trifle with, stories to write, ale to brew, and bread to bake.

C'mon gang. Isolation ain't boring. Get real!

I'm still teaching online, so I'm not bored.

Also, I'm in rehearsals for a play: The Game's Afoot or Holmes for the Holidays by Ken Ludwig. We rehearse Thursday through Sunday evenings, 7-10. I'm not acting in it; I'm stage managing. We conduct our rehearsals over Hangouts Meet. And Friday I am going to a party in my Department over Zoom (BYOB and pants optional).

I also journal, work crossword puzzles (using a pencil or a Frixion pen), puzzles, etc. I am on Season Three of The Expanse. I walk in the evenings. So not bored, though still anxious and often depressed, but I am managing. Hubby is cooking a lot and recently found a Go engine (he's into chess, Go, and Chinese chess).

I used to tell my children and my students that boredom is a curse suffered only by the mentally lazy and unimaginative.

Oh yes, and online chess, mostly at correspondence time controls allowing at least a couple of days per move.

With many tournaments being canceled, including one I was counting on for May, it's a good way to play.

There is SO much to do at home that I wish I weren't "essential" at work. I read voraciously, I maintain my 4 koi and am always training the 4 dogs. There are beaches to be walked and palm trees to trim. The house needs painting in and out, lots of stuff hasn't been unpacked from the move, the list goes on. Oh, and letters to write.

That said, practicing my little Irish lever harp (named Toto) is taking a lot of my off hours just now. My Skype teacher lives in Cape Town, so there's no problem with maintaining the social distance.
