I have to get myself one of those flip magnifying things. They are fabulous.

They're great when they're working and repairing well, and when they're not, generate a blue cloud of choice, four-letter words. I had one striped vac Sheaffer a few months ago that would have warranted an R-rating if they'd been filming me that day.
Do you mean the OptiVisor? One of my most useful tools. I use the basic one every day. I got one with a light and additional magnification which should be useful but I find it too heavy and distracting. My eyes are no longer as good as they were and I use a lot of different means of magnification but that is the best all-rounder. I get so used to it that my husband sometimes has to remind me to take it off when I'm finished.

I was watching The Repair Shop last night. I think there's a new series. The clock maker was using his tiny jeweller's lathe. I so want it.

A bit too much of the Glenmorangie, methinks.

LOVE the size of those "drinking glasses!" Two of three fingers worth?
Bucket list - walk the Camino de Santiago again

When my husband lived in Dornoch he used to pass the Glenmorangie Distillery quite often - just five miles or so across the Firth. He decided one day to stop in and try the product. He'd been on those distillery tour before and usually you get a couple of thimble-sized glasses but he hit it off with the tour guide and was given decent drams of the five year old, the ten year old, the twelve year old and so on up to the thirty year old. Much Glenmorangie later he had to leave the car and take a taxi home. Good stuff.
So that's a "blurry shot"? Three standard sized shots in one glass?

M: I came here for a good argument.
A: No you didn't; no, you came here for an argument.
M: An argument isn't just contradiction.
A: It can be.
M: No it can't. An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition.
A: No it isn't.
M: Yes it is! It's not just contradiction.
A: Look, if I argue with you, I must take up a contrary position.
M: Yes, but that's not just saying 'No it isn't.'
A: Yes it is!
M: No it isn't!

Beautiful story! The longest time we spent in Scotland, one week, was many year ago. It was courtesy of a wonderful promotion by BritRail on their... 75th? anniversary. You called them up, wished "happy birthday britrail" and could purchase 1st class, one month rail passes for $75 (US promotion). We could only carve out 2 weeks but what a blast, just hopping on trains whenever.
After the trip up through England we settled in Glasgow as a central point and took day trips out. It wasn't our intent (my intent) to make this a Malt Tour but we did end up at three distilleries (Oban, Edradour and Arran). The bonus part is that M doesn't imbibe, so at the end of each tour she would upend her glass into mine. Make mine a double! Good times, very good times, and it completely cemented my lifelong love affair with Scotland. I hope to return, gods willing, before too long.
