    Default Section making question

Just starting trying to make my own sections. Do you always do the inside first? What is your fail rate?

    Hi
I tap the OD that goes into the body first. I found that the solid ID gives the tapping operation more stability. Then I drill and tap the ID.

If you are new to pen making have you checked out the International Association of Penturners , IAP.org?

It’s a great forum with amazingly talented pen makers. They are very welcoming. Check them out.

One of these days, a smart pen maker will offer parts fabricated by 3D printer.

I’ve seen some printed parts. There is a pen maker that creates honeycomb patterns then casts over them. I’ve also seen pen sections.
