Default Leonardo Momento Zero drying issues

I have a very nice Momento Zero that keeps drying out if I fail to use it every day. If it sleeps unused for a day I will invariably need to wet the nib and feed before it will write. Sometimes it even seems to dry out while being used if I hold it open without writing for a few minutes. (This is very common when I am grading: read something, then write comments.)

Are there any easy steps I should try to remedy this?

I wish I could help because, as it is, mine is one of those pens that *doesn't* seem to dry out. I can have it capped for quite a few days and it starts right up. When you say it does this even while in a writing session, I then start to wonder about the ink itself, because there is nothing particularly different about the nib/feed/section design that should make this pen worse than others at drying out during use. Is it an ink you use (successfully) in other pens?

Simplest remedy might be another ink. My Momento Zero was dry and hesitant with Aurora blue-black, verging on incontinent with Noodler's bupA. Now looking for something in between.

Try Waterman Blue or black to see if ink is the issue. If the Waterman works well and doesn't dry out, it's probably your ink. If the Waterman ink is still dry in your pen, look elsewhere.

I have learned to test all pens with Waterman first to be sure it works. Then when I go to another ink and have problems, it's most likely the new ink.

    Cheers.

The current ink is Akkerman Stormachtig Blau. I’ll try Waterman Blue to see how it goes.

I hope that this works for you. A nib that dries out while capped has become one of my biggest peeves.
