The mineral aspect is throwing me. I was sure it was road kill with gravel underneath and a leaf on top.

The animal content is because it's not vegan. It's also not exactly healthy and I'm sure there's some salt in there somewhere, hence the mineral content.

But you're making the roadkill sound better all the time. I might have to go for a ride and "shop" for dinner. What kind of leaf do you recommend as a garnish?

Oak with iron galls, of course.

I've never tasted iron gall ink, but it sounds less appetizing that roadkill. Possibly more toxic as well.
