    Default Re-Restored Parkler 51

Back in late February I won an auction for a restored Parker 51. I lean toward early models. Got this one for $60 and felt I had gotten a good deal on a '42 version. Upon receipt I notice the hood was loose and leaked at that point once filled. Also the nib rotated when writing. Needless to say I was disappointed and decided to just look at it.

Then, early in April I said to myself that since I had gotten a good deal, spending a bit more wouldn't be so bad, especially for a gold nib and gold cap. I contacted Parker51 and got a reply within the hour from Tim. He said he would be glad to re-restore the pen. I packaged it up and sent if off across the country to Utah.

I got a reply that much was wrong including wrong sized parts and the previous diaphragm floating about. How nice!!

Today I got the Gold 51 back today and could not be more pleased.

Ha! I love those Parker 51 advertisements made during WW2. The world's most-wanted pen. Yes! The all-time best fountain pen. Enjoy it.
