    Question M250 vs M200

Is the only difference between an old-style M250 and M200 with the "derby" on their caps, just a 14k nib instead of plated steel?

I believe there is also a difference with the cap rings.

My black 250 has a 14 K nib, my other 200's from that era '85-97 (no W.Germany so '91-97), have color so are harder to compare....Mine is NOS, I might not have gotten it had it not been; but even so the price was comparable to LE 200's.

In she discovered the pen on Ebay small local sales.....Wives have a certain voice they use to get men to do things..........so I got that pen, when it was not on my list.
Seeing it is NOS she believes it's an investment pen....what do you Mean...INK that pen!!!
OK, I'm easy to get along with. I have a number of regular flex M nibs...so have no need to ink it.

I really like the old style M250 with it's "dome" cap end.

Especially the gray marble or tortoise model with a good 14ct nib.

They have also become expensive now.

The link Christof gave us to Applebloom, allowed me to find out I had a 481 ('83-85) instead of some weird hidden marked under a cap Pelikan 200. The pre-200.

Having no real idea of one, had never chased one, so lucked out again at a live auction. I had 'seen' one before but due to lack of one, never remembered which one I'd seen on the coms. Out of sight, out of mind.
