Fred, i was thinking about MBs whose ebonite feeds get replaced with plastic ones. I think MBs plastic feeds work pretty well as plastic feeds go, but i still prefer the ebonite ones for flow. Beyond that i’m not very picky. In fact, i’d rather have a Pilot with an aftermarket ebonite feed than one with the original plastic.

The answer only relates to the buyers preferences and not what the seller thinks.

Nitpickers are historians seeking the truth of the matter, not something negative or irritating. What's irritating are sellers seeking to get rid of something at a premium that is not correct. Pen forums bring folks together with many experiences and backgrounds. If you're a pen expert, wow!!. You might be talking to an expert in another field who is simply bringing that desire of authenticity to vintage fountain pens. To each there own preferences be led.

I recently bought a 1944 Vacumatic Emerald Pearl, but whe it arrived the nib was wonky, so I purchased a date code 5 (1945) nib from Five Star Pens, which was represented as a OM. Seems wider to me than even a OB in a Pelikan M200 I have, but it is era correct if not year correct, so I have no problem with it.
