Default ASC Gladiatore Medio Arco Bronze

Plans and considerations have a way of changing and so I'm listing this beautiful pen for sale.

    Details:
Armando Simoni Club Gladiatore Medio in Arco Bronze w/ 18K gold nib and trim. Doesn't have a nib size stamping, but I'd say it writes as a smooth, wet medium. This is the 'Medio' size which is roughly the same size as a Pelikan M800, Montblanc 146. Can not overstate how gorgeous the Arco celluloid is.
Picked this up about a month ago off the original owner who purchased it from Chatterly Luxuries. Original owner said they had only inked it once to test and I have only done the same in the time I've had it.

Asking $950 USD through PayPal. Shipping from Canada and I'll cover the shipping costs to CONUS/Canada. Comes with all original box and paperwork.

    Thanks for looking.

So this pen is 3rd hand being sold for the same price as Chatterley is offering for a brand new one?

Chatterley will never cover shipping, if that is any consolation.

It helps to be nice whenever possible -- for example, may be consider giving such a heads up in a PM to the seller, instead of derailing the post. Just my 2c.

Ordinarily, I would agree with you completely.
But, given that this pen has only been on the market for a few months, it does seem odd that the OP is pricing it for the same amount as what a new one costs.
I think the more concerning question is why this pen is now being sold for the 3rd time in just a few short months. Given ASC's awful reputation for QC, one cannot help but imagine the real reason why two owners have inked it once and then sold it.

Fair concern. I dont know anything about pen/seller. But I have had mixed feelings about ASC pens -- I got their pen, was super excited about, got a fantastic pen and wonderful writer, only to realize that this pen doesn't fit well for me. I was bummed about trading it away, but only to someone who already had similar ASC pens and knew what they were getting.

ASC pens are crap. Only thing they have going for them is that their owner bought almost all the Omas celluloid rod stock. Remove that, and you have the crappiest overpriced pens out there. And when you make them aware of this, they respond by saying “Our pens are truly art pieces.”
Their bologna extra has the same internals as Wahl Eversharp decoband, and yer the feel in hand is completely different. Wahl feels great in hand with impeccable balance and bologna extra is back heavy.
I also had their Il Gladiatore, 70 piece limited edition. The ink flow from that aluminium feed started off wet and stopped flowing after 5-6 lines, and I tried it with 9 inks. Not to mention that the PVD coating on their feed came off after just 2 fills.

    +1
And, to make things worse, their overall customer service is awful....... especially their post sales service.

I have never used a Wahl Eversharp but I do have the ASC Bologna. I don't have any problems with the Bologna's writing experience (aside from maybe being too wet) but I really don't like the pneumatic filling mechanism. But, regardless of anyone's experience with the pens, it's still probably fair to ask that concerns about prices be sent directly to the seller and not publicly posted.

This is just so sad --- derailing someone's pen sale.

I am sure there are other forums on FPGeeks to talk about pen companies and their service. I bet we can find a flaw with every pen company.

And one of our fellow FPG members getting stuck with a lemon which two previous owners could not get rid of fast enough is not sad??

There is nothing stopping the OP (who has made a grand total of 2 posts here) from adding a post with his personal assurance that the pen is perfect. And that he will provide a full refund if the buyer has any concerns.

Then it is up to the buyer to determine if he or she wishes to pay the same price for a third hand pen that they could pay for a brand new pen from an authorized dealer who can & will stand behind the pen. Given the track record of these pens, to purchase one at full price without the confidence that you are dealing with someone who can stand behind the pen and provide full warranty coverage, if necessary, is nuts.

Perhaps the correct way to manage this is to close this thread and move it to the Market Feedback section of this site. And then let the OP begin anew......... Would that be less sad????

If I sent the OP the PM, and he/she did nothing, then it doesnt have the intended effect which is to make the public aware of the situation.

I have both, and they both function similarly, outside of the extra flexibility in the decoband superflex. They are made by the same company (Leonardo turns and creates both pens)

This is why I post this stuff publicly. Because people have gotten ripped off like this before. If people dont like it, that is unfortunate, but I am not violating the TOS. I think moving it/closing it will not solve the problem as nothing is stopping the OP from just reposting it.

Connect with him on instagram, he will send you a paypal request with the price listing on the site. So if you were to buy a 1K pen verbally, he will send you a 1k paypal invoice. It likely is a win/win since he wont be charged merchant fees from the online charge fees from credit card companies.

Honestly. Whoever the seller and his reasons, this is a sale listing. Seems fair to start a new thread to discuss the merits of the pen.
