Hope you're all staying busy and healthy!
A quick question that I hope your expertise can help with.
I recently picked up a vintage Parker button-filler, that I believe is known as a DuoVac/DuoFold "senior size" from approximately 1941. I'm fairly new to fountain pens & collecting, so I'm not an expert in FP IDs, so I could be off. Found it in a basket of 3rd tier pens at a local "vintage" store for $9: couldn't pass it up!
I've replaced the sac, cleaned it, the pressure spring works fine with the button-filler, and overall is a fun everyday writing pen!
It has the original nib: nothing fancy, but it is smooth and consistent.
My question: the pen tends to accumulate extra ink in the cap, which then causes "inky fingers" when using it... Badge of Honor, eh? HehHeh.
I've ultrasonically cleaned the cap, keep it washed out with water weekly, but wonder what can cause that buildup (leaky?) ink in the cap and then on the grip..... I use mostly Monte Verde, J. Herbin, & Conway Stewart bottle inks for my everyday inking.
Any thoughts?
Attached is a photo of the pen, if that helps.
Thanks, and stay safe!
