Wow that's even more awesome than I imagined!
While I love that carved pen holder I'm less keen on pointing finger nibs. They just look a bit weird somehow.
Standard shape dip pen nibs are fine for my occasional use.

These are known as manicule nibs and they were made by several companies in the 1930s. I see them for sale online so Brause may still make them. I have a Macniven and Cameron example somewhere.
