My friend George Sutton, God rest him, would have been 98 years old today, July 2. I wanted to see what the Coke sign would look like with the lens wide open, and George obliged me with a quintessential pose.
George carried two Montblanc pens in his shirt pocket, as seen in this photo I made at Ruby's Diner in Laguna Beach, California. I think one was a rollerball or a ball pen, and the other was a fountain pen.
While sadly, we never talked about them, I'm glad I made the photo.
