Pelikan 4001 RB is not much saturated but I guess the concentrating has raised the viscosity.
Hi everyone who responded to the Pelikan Ink 200%,
I've been away for a spell but now back at it. Going back to basics, I tried my Pilot Falcon SF with just 100% Pelikan Royal Blue 4001, and got consistent railroading on the down-stroke while using this pen with this particular ink. I should have tried it before I worked the 200% but this pilot fountain pen uses ink quickly and I like the way it writes so I use it a lot. I just change out inks very quickly using this pen. My conclusion is this pen is liking all the Diamine, Sailor and Pilot inks which I have in my reserve @ 100% with no railroading issues but I could not get it to flow evenly with a Pelikan 4001 at 100% and impossible @ 200% mix. I did not have any issues with this ink using a Pelikan 600 F nib pen, my Mont Blanc 144 M nib or my Sheaffers @ 100%. All worked well using this 4001 ink.
My goal was to get a Darker richer Blue with the Pelikan Inks as shown by the OP with his Pilot Blue/Black ink. I lean towards Blue Black inks as a preference which this tread got me curious and experimental.
I might still try this 200% mix using my other pens.
I will report back what I find.
I apologize to the OP for hijacking his thread.
    Cheers,
    VT

Well I just tested the Pelikan 4001 Royal Blue at 2X using my Noodler's 15042 Hudson Bay Fathoms Ahab Flex.
It works a charm. No issues. Pic's to follow. Happy writing.
    Cheers
