Covid-19 in Hidalgo County still the same. 15% of those tested come back positive and 4% of those die.

Both those rates are too high.

If he hasn't taken any action by now it's looking like he's not going to do take any.

Can't take action against a hoax.

Well, it's interesting to look at the action he has taken.

For Covid-19 he has taken the position that the individuals cannot be told what to do.

For the flood and storm victims from Hurricane Hanna he has said it is not enough harm to declare a disaster and bring in FEMA.

For the agriculture barons he has determined Hanna cause such great crop damage that the USDA needs to step in with monetary aid for the businessmen.

And for the unemployed farm workers he has declared sympathy but no extension of unemployment benefits.

So far the US has experienced just under 50 Covid-19 related deaths per 100,000 population according to Johns Hopkins.

The highest rate of Covid-19 related deaths among developed nations so far has been around 70 per 100,000 population in the UK.

Hidalgo County has had just over 119 Covid-19 related deaths per 100,000.

Well the August figures are in. During the month Hidalgo County recorded 10533 new Covid-19 cases and we recorded 469 additional deaths related to Covid-19. We still have hundreds hospitalized and over 130 in ICU.

Hidalgo County has averaged about 4000 deaths a year from ALL causes. In just 6 months we have recorded 1171 deaths just from Covid-19.

It seems an increase of over 25% when it comes to annual deaths is acceptable since most were old and not in the work force anyway.

Really really discomforting news trend locally ...

we had seen the number of Covid-19 cases significantly lower for October than we had from August and September but were still seeing between 125 and 150 new cases daily ...

then yesterday it jumped to 426 new cases ...

and today to 681 new cases ...

and we are heading into the Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years party days.

    Not good folk, not good.

    It's horrible...
Sadly, people will learn to preserve their own lives...or they will lose them.
The elite 1% have no problem with the masses dying as the 99% of us generate wealth for them and are "Expendable".
    This will never change.
It is up to the working class of people to decide their lives are worth more than:
    -Going to the bar
    -Going to the bar-b-que
    -Going to the club
    -Going to the movies
    -Going to the mall
    -Going to the beauty salon
    -Going to the beach
    -Going to parties
    -Going to weddings
    -Going to gatherings with strangers
-Going to places that are hotspots for COVID-19
-Going to places with people that believe their personal rights trumP everyone else

    Save yourself, or die...period.
    No one else will.
"I can only improve my self, not the world."

We must save each other, or else this Covid-19 goes on and on until a vaccine has been distributed to everyone.

New York is starting to tighten down again: NYC public schools will close. In the Missouri school district that my grand-children attend, the schools had been on half-time until too many staff got sick. Now closed. Looks grim all over.

Another 679 cases today. My county has had over 2000 new Covid-19 cases just this week. We are right back where we were in July and August.
