Today I've been writing with MI#29. An unusual brown ink. Unusual because on my 95gsm coated paper it changed colour from a reddish brown to a greenish brown after I had finished writing.
I didn't see the same effect on the Rhodia DotPad. On there it stayed more reddish brown.

It wrote as a wet ink but was not well lubricated and was quick to dry on Rhodia DotPad. It also made my Lamy Al-Star "sing" as I wrote across the Rhodia paper. Quite disconcerting and off putting. I didn't like it.

It also wrote wet on the 95gsm British notebook paper, but it still did not not feel lubricated. It almost seemed to drag across the paper somehow and felt hard work to write with. Odd.

I'm pleased I tried it but I don't think it's an ink bottle I would buy. A chameleon ink.

Funny Chrissy, #28 was scratchier than 29 for me. It reminded me of Scaboisa.
29 glided for me. At least it did last night. I haven't written with it today, so I don't know if it's temperamental...

When you said it made your Lamy sing, I took metaphorically, which made me confused....not understanding you meant a metaphoric screech

I found it a wet ink in that it had plenty of flow, but it just didn't feel lubricated. Yes, definitely a metaphoric screech.

This is interesting. I had decided to 'write out' the small amount of MI 28 I had put in the Wing'S...and as I wrote, the ink began to feel better, less dry and draggy, more writeable.

    So I refilled it. ✒️ 😎

I ignored mine for a few days and let it sulk. The flow became nice and smooth....

If a comment from the peanut gallery is allowed I would like to place a guess for MI #28 based on the pictures already posted.

Red inks are always difficult to guess (at least for me).

I would guess Omas Red (even it is a ink which is no longer available..... would make it even cooler with respect to the game). 😎

Here is mystery #29 written review-ish.
Flow was good. Also 28 after letting it sit for a while, became smooth.....

Does anything happen to #29 if it gets wet? (Looks like an ink I have in rotation.)

When Mystery Ink originally began it was always traditional that anyone could submit guesses by PM to the Mystery Ink Donor. Then if someone guesses correctly they are announced as a (non-prize) winner at the end when the ink is revealed.

Because I seem to like to go back and look at some of the Mystery Inks I've compiled all of the previous threads here as Scooby's list of previous MI links up to #14 seems to have stopped working. :

I'm quite content not guessing. I guess enough on another thread
So the protocol is to do a little review and then PM junglejim with my guess?
I much prefer doing it on the forum....If it's agreeable to everyone... If not I abide by the rule

I'm also quite content with not guessing. As you say there is another thread for that.
I only mentioned what previously happened with mystery inks as they have been going for quite some time now and there are new members involved.
If everyone has posted their thoughts on the ink or inks then it makes no difference whether people guess or not. If some haven't posted their thoughts maybe they could be influenced by public guesses? It's possible they don't mind that either and we've guessed on the threads before.
If junglejim doesn't want to receive PM guesses then he might think that putting them in this thread is OK.

You can post guesses here and I'll only PM you if you guess correctly. Otherwise, I'll remain silent. I'll do the ink reveals of MI #28 and #29 on 12 August, which will be 2 weeks since the last participant received their ink flight. That should give the others time to evaluate their samples.

    All the Best.

I wrote with MI#29 in my Seven Seas Writer Journal and found it very much easier and nicer to write with on the Tomoe River paper.

The pen is a Parker 45 with R oblique nib and it had been left filled for a couple of days. No problems with this pen and ink combination.
