Default Mystery Ink #28 (version 3) and Mystery Ink #29

I think in these dark and uncertain times it might be nice to send out some fun inks to our fellow geeks to play with. Since azkid has given me his blessing, I will try and set up this next ink flight.

As with any mystery ink it is open to FPG veterans, n00bs, newbies, and lurkers. You volunteer, I send free ink, you write with it and post your thoughts and observations. Guessing is welcome, but not required. There is nothing to "win" aside from perhaps personal satisfaction that you recognized it. No guess is confirmed until the mystery ink is finally revealed. The point of the mystery ink threads is an unbiased review. Fear not about the quality of your handwriting or sketching abilities. We don't care. We are all appreciative of those with the gift of artistic ability, but how well you draw or write doesn't impact your ability to test an ink and provide your opinion on it.

I will act as the Procurer, Packer, and Post Office Porter. This ink flight will consist of 1 packet containing 2 inks, each vial filled with 3mls of Mystery Ink labeled MI-28 and MI-29. There will be 10 packets available and only 2 of the packets will be for overseas participants due to the high cost of postage ( US$14.50/each ). If you are international, please let me know.

The inks in this ink flight are dye based, not pigmented, no shimmer and not iron gall.

Post below if you would like to volunteer to receive a free ink flight. I'll leave this open until 12 Noon PDT Friday July 17th. International packets will post on Saturday July 18th and US packets will post on Tuesday July 21st.

Until then, stay Safe and Healthy.
    All the Best.

As long as it is not related to BSB, it might be fun to try.

I'd be interested to have another go but put me at the bottom of your list because I'd rather someone who hasn't done it before get the chance and I'm international (UK)

If I get too many overseas participants I'll do a Randon Number Generator pick. So no worries.

I don't use the Noodler's Bay State Series of inks so there won't be any in the ink flights I send out.

I would also love to have a go if there aren't enough participants, so please put me at the bottom of the list too. The bottom of this list is getting busier than the top.

Thanks for doing this! I'm really looking forward to following the series reboot

I am going to spectate this round. If you want a bunch of plastic pipettes that you can heat weld shut with ink in them let me know. I tested them and I think this may be the most robust, leak-free way to send ink samples.

I would be really interested to know how to do this and whether it works. I've recently had an ink sample disaster when I sent some ink to a friend, so am looking for different ideas to regular sample vials.

What plastic pipettes do I need to obtain?

I've also seen this done on 5-Minute Crafts with drinking straws. I'm not sure of the heat source, though.

Alas, all the inks I own and that I'm familiar with have already been run through the mystery mill, so I cannot match any new mysteries. Thank you junglejim for continuing Mystery Ink.

    Hello Folks!

The ink flights for MI #28 and MI #29 are now closed.

suzy01 since we only have 2 participants from the US I have the funds to add you in for this round!

If all the participants --- suzy01, Chrissy, Yazeh, Sailor Kenshin and Wily E. Coyote --- could please PM me their names and addresses so I can get ready to fill out the Customs forms and packets for international mailing tomorrow. US participants will have their packets mailed on Tuesday.

Thank-you very much for participating in this Mystery Ink round!!

    All the Best.
