Default Old Cross Townsend Looking for Info

    Screenshot_20200713_183904.jpg

    Hi,

Been offered this cross townsend, looking for any info on it. Possible age, if its worth much and also if all the parts are there? Really don't know much about these and can't imagine you can still get refills for them?

    Cheers
    Mark

From the picture you've posted it doesn't look complete nor does it look like a fountain pen. The screw thread coming from the cap and the part at the bottom of the barrel suggests this could be a mechanical pencil. The barrel part on the right hand side of your picture doesn't look complete for a mechanical pencil.

I'm not even sure the item is a Cross Townsend rather than the Townsend on the clip being it's brand name.

This is not a Cross Townsend or anything like a Cross Townsend. As one who likes Cross Townsends, I'd say, a little intemperately, that it looks like junk. I would not pay anything for it.

No need to be intemperate. We are just talking pens.

In any event, it looks to me like a third-tier mechanical pencil. Properly restored, it might be a handsome piece.
