My dad collected and sold fountain pens. He worked for Levenger in the 1990s, when they sold quality pens. With his employee discount he bought me a Pelikan Souveran M800. I don't know why he did that. I liked pens but was by no means passionate about them at the time. Little did I know how much that would change. I thought, "Gee, a nice big blue pen. Thanks dad." Well, he obviously knew something I didn't. The passion took hold and never stopped. I delight in fountain pens and enjoy other kinds of pens. So much to appreciate and learn: how they write, how they work, how they feel in the hand, the varieties of ink, the difference paper can make, and more. After my dad passed away several years ago I inherited what was left of his pen collection. Most of the pens I don't recognize but I hope to eventually identify them. I look forward sharing my passion and hearing about yours. Be well.
