Default Pilot Custom 74 Medium Nib

For sale is a Pilot 74 with gold finishes and medium nib. Nib really is excellent- super smooth and wet writer, but the crappy copy paper I use daily just isn’t a great fit with this nib.

Excellent shape overall, some micro scratches if you look but nothing out of character for a pen that has been carried.

Comes with box and Con 70 converter.

    $85 shipped and Paypalled

Is medium nib on this pen is similar to western/american nibs in term of width? I know that many Japanese nibs are roughly one size smaller.
    Could you comment?

It’s not as wide as a western medium, but the size discrepancy between Western and Japanese nibs seems to get smaller as the nib size gets bigger. I’d say overall it’s about as wide as my other normal-ish Fine (Franklin Christoph nib). I find my Pilot fine is the finest, then Platinum fine, then the Pilot medium. I’ll send you a writing sample for comparison.

Yes, I found that too. For example Namiki VP F is pretty fine, more like western XF, but M is like regular western M. I use mostly XFs and Fs nibs and most standard western Ms are to wide for my writing so little bit afraid to have something too wide.
BTW, you say that nibs is wet writing and I like that, was it like that out of the box or the was the nib tuned?
