    Default Parker 51 Writes Again!

Found in a distance galaxy (remote drawer in my desk) far from the light of day, my circa 1960 Parker 51! Used like mad in my undergrad and grad days, it took a long vacation. I recently did a thorough, but gentle cleaning and wahla, it’s alive again. Loaded currently with Monteverde California Teal, it is a dream.

They really are built like tanks, aren't they?

I have a very very nice Montblanc 145 for which I paid over $400. There it sits in the closet, unused, while I continuously reach for my 70 yr old Vac 51.

Got to admire these pens. They'll survive nearly anything!

My 'indestructible super powers' list includes Lamy 2000, Pelikan 100, and Parker 51 and 45. Great quality and totally reliable. I have P-100s that I've loaded up and still work with their original piston seals.

Yes, these 51s are marvelous pens. My preferred pen of the Parkers.
