I'm waiting on a bunch of small notebooks that I ordered from several websites. I have several people I write to that the letters get really long--thought I would try to write a letter in some of these. Tsubame from mymaido, apica/marumen/kokuyo from jetpens. Thin notebooks, like you would take a handwritten test in. And I also got a few Field Notes although I doubt that pocket size is good for letter writing.

I'm waiting for two packs of A6 Bob Foundation notebooks, for no better reason than a 70% off sale at Bureau Direct. No doubt a use will suggest itself eventually. Also, a couple of Elco pads arrived yesterday, unopened as yet, but I have high hopes of them.

Anybody know of a notebook in A5 size with a dot grid pattern with white, not off-white/cream, coloured paper?

Cool Re: What paper/notebook/journal are you waiting on?

    Hello!

Just received the two notebooks I bought from Goulet's. I ordered a Leuchtturm (large - A5), dotted, a Rhodia Webnotebook (A5, dotted as well), and 4 Rhodia pads (2 dotted, a 2 gridded).

For my surprise it arrived in less than 2 weeks! Usually it takes more than a month for a package that size and weight. This time I felt Brazil is not so far away from the rest of the world as I used to think.

The "Goulet packing method" is amazing, all the goods were intact and I can't wait to start using the paper. The experience of buying from them was really nice too, I don't regret choosing them even though their prices were a few dollars above some other choices I had. As I said before, I just think it's better to support a family business.

    I took some pictures...

    The package:

The Leuchtturm, the Rhdia, and the 4 rhodia pads under them:

Well, I just wanted to share with you the experience and the joy!

    Thanks!

My current favorite edc notebook. I added a pen loop and I use the bullet journaling system with it. Great buy!

Heath, the TWSBI notebook arrived just as I was reading about bullet journaling. After 4 days, I love the notebook. Some showthru but not too bad, I can easily use both side of the paper. This bullet journal concept is pretty interesting. It's going we'll right now, I hope I can stay with it.

I just picked up a Paperblanks Nocturnelle in the Ultra size, and a Russell and Hazel mini binder with a few different paper inserts. I just received the Paperblanks and it is beautiful in person.

I had been waiting on this, which arrived today. Do not ask what I will use it for as I have no ideas at all. I have weaknesses for small items with fun detail. Super cheap eBay find, leather is soft and clearly hand worked. Not sure how friendly the paper will be, it is the thick cotton stuff prone to absorption and feathering, feels like. But I love it.

The leather notebook is cute! Sadly they really aren't fountain pen friendly most of the time, feel more like toilet paper under the nib... But there's still nice pencils for writing.

I'm waiting for some stationery and notebooks from The Bindery of Awesomeness:

I've ordered there before, good quality paper and bindings, beautiful and whimsical designs printed by an old Heidelberg printing press. No affiliation etc.

Depends on where you're based. In the UK there's the Dotgrid.co spiral-bound notebook, from this young company http://dotgrid.co/
I've used their dot grid notebooks, which are intended for designers, for journalling, and the paper is great. Pale grey dot grid printed on white 104gsm paper. I use a Pilot with f nib inked with Deep Dark Blue and there's no show-through at all.

They also sell A4 size and the paper loose.

For those outside UK they do international shipping but the postage costs might make this notebook prohibitive price-wise

What a terrific amount of books and journals there are.

I've already got a Moleskine hard cover notebook around A5 in size. Fit and finish are superb but I am not so sure about the paper's suitability to my fountain pen. It seems to spread the ink broader than I would like and feels a little grabby. My pen is a medium nibbed TWSBI with Pelikan Edelstein Sapphire Blue.

So I was off on the hunt for something new. Due to the staggering amount of brands and even within brands, I gave up after looking at the main ones and have ordered a couple of Rhodia Webbie notebooks and a large TWSBI softcover notebook. I'm sorry if they're off the target, but there are smashing 'I just love it' and awful 'it's useless with my pen' reviews for every single one I looked at. So in the end, just before my head exploded, I went with these ones!

By the way, on the same subject but sorry if this is off-topic to the thread... I see a Da Vinci leather journal on Andy's Pens website http://www.andys-pens.co.uk/italianjournals.shtml which looks very classy, if not expensive. Has anyone experience and opinions on this one?

I very much doubt that you'll be disappointed with either, Mark. I'll vouch for the Rhodias coping with anything up to and including a fully loaded dip pen, and there are plenty of flex pen enthusiasts saying nice things about the TWSBI books.
