What paper/notebook/journal are you waiting on?

We have the "What pen are you waiting on?" thread, why not one devoted to paper/journals/notebooks?

I'll start. I have been bitten by the vintage paper bug recently and that led to journals, diaries, notebooks and the like. I first bought a couple of pads of vintage airmail onion skin pads by Premier. If you received a letter from me recently, the paper may have been from these pads:

That lead me to looking for vintage journals. I found one that looks to be an insurance agents promotional item from 1960.

This is the latest to come in, and most interesting to me is a John Walker Back Loop Diary. The pencil sits in a sheath made into the spine of the book. This dates from 1932. The back cover has an insurance application for purchasers of the diary. Those that follow me on Instagram have probably already seen all these pictures.

Well... I just ordered two new noteboos, both A5 (or so).

The first one is a Rhodia, hardcover, black, dotted. And the other one is a Leuchtturm 1917, same specs.

Since I have been using Moleskine's I think it's going to be a good way to try new papers and brands.

I was waiting on a 1920's vintage ringed notebook. It was full of notes from what seemed to be a phone operator in training. Unfortunately, the seller has not shipped my item and will not respond to my emails. Ebay/Paypal report will be my only option now.

Very, very sad. I had my share of problems with these sellers at Ebay.

It seems like a "russian roulette"... sometimes you get it right.. sometimes don't.

The two notebooks I'm waiting for (the Rhodia and the Leuchtturm) I asked a friend who is travelling through Europe to bring them to me. Cheaper and safer!

Well, three bad transactions out of over 300 does not seem like bad odds to me. At least I have the option to open a case with Paypal/eBay now. I will most likely get my money back on this one. In the mean time, I ordered a 5"x7" padfolio for my wife.

Not bad odds at all!

For me, in over 100 transactions... something like 10 or 12 cases. Got my money back in half of them.

But I'm a optimist! Positive mental attitude always! And I just can't stop buying thing on Ebay... lol
