Oooo, this is one of the nicer Omas saffron patterns I've seen.

This is a beautiful pen and a very good price.

I do not mean this to be critical or negative in any way...please do not interpret it as such....but in looking at these excellent photos it is striking (at least to me) how over the years the Omas "Blue Saffron" gradually morphed from being predominantly Blue to being predominantly Saffron.

Depending upon one's personal preference, over the years of this specific celluloid's production, one could almost certainly find a color combination which is most consistent with their taste.

I have never seen brand new Blue Saffron celluloid material/pen, right after "birth" from
the factory/penbox. So it is hard for me to know how it has aged over time. May be other wxperts can help us undersatnd
this

Also, if I put more effort in photography (than just iPhone pics in regular room), bihand touchup the pics, I presume I can accentuate the color the look more vibrant.

My apologies for not being more clear in my communication. I did not mean to imply that the actual celluloid changes over time from more Blue to more Saffron.

What I meant was that the "formula" Omas used to create their Blue Saffron rods was one which has changed from having the rods appear more Blue to one which has them appear more Saffron. My assumption is this was a conscious choice on the part of Omas likely due to customer feedback and/or preferences.

It would be fun to lay down various pens of the same celluloid side by side to compare.

For the sake of academic curiosity, even in the same generation of materials, a random color distribution in a material of mixed color is not unlikely during manufacturing? I mean, if its a long celluloid rod, I assume there would be parts of it with a vibrant color distribution and others that have a very different pattern.
