    Default Franklin Christoph nibmeister

Note that FC have put on their nib page that Masuyama is no longer going to be shaping nibs for them, and that Nagahara is the new nib bod on the block. No information on what kind of grinds Nagahara will be offering.

Does anyone have direct experience with both of these craftsmen? If so, what are the characteristic differences (if any) in the grinds that they produce?

    TIA

    The announcement on Instagram:

Big News - we have made a change from Masuyama to Nagahara nib grinds. This is a permanent change as Mr Masuyama will be focusing efforts on his individual business and other obligations. Mr Nagahara and Mr Masuyama were both trained in the same school of grinding (much by the well known late elder Mr. Nagahara). They are very similar in approach anyway, but have conferred over the past months to make sure there will be little noticeable change for our clients. We are greatly honored to have Mr Nagahara in partnership with our brand as the world's most prestigious nib master. We will have a few Masuyama nibs to come in over the next month. If interested in buying for individual sale, you can sign up for the email notifications on the #5 and #6 nib pages. Nagahara nibs are available now on our pens.

Doesn't Audrey Matteson also do grinds/nib work for FC?

Yes, including the SIG nibs originated by Jim Rouse.

I'm barely there myself. Just enough to not be completely out of the loop.
