Ok, when the others received their samples I can also continue.

MI#30 is quite water resistant, I like it a lot as sketching/drawing ink.
It plays well with water, on the other hand existing lines will stay quite ok also applying a wash.

Let´s continue with a drawing (inspired by the overall situation globally) with MI#30:

Skull by Ptero-Pterodactylus by Ptero Pterodactylus on DeviantArt

(Montblanc 14 - OBB ..... Mystery Ink #30 provided by junglejim, Brush)

To be honest I like drawing with MI#30 more than writing with it.
I'm pretty sure Suzy will also appreciate the drawing qualities of MI#30.

Jim – thank you a ton for letting me play with your mystery inks, this is fun!

Dark purples are pretty much my favorite inks, so I was pretty pumped when I saw #30. Here are some messy samples on two different papers:

    Rhodia 80 g/m2 from a Dot Pad:

    Tomoe River 52 g/m2:

I probably have more purple swatches than any other color, but I couldn’t find one that was much of a match for our Mystery #30:

Chromograph wise, I did pick up just a trace of yellow in there, but it’s pretty much pure purple to my eye:

Feathering was a bit of a problem on copy paper as one would expect from a fairly wet ink, but not bad at all:

But shadowing and bleed-through were minor on both the better papers:

    Rhodia 80 g/m2 from a Dot Pad:

    Tomoe River 52 g/m2:

    Copy paper:

Hopefully somewhere in these photos is a bit of data to help you with your guesses. I certainly don’t have enough experience with this stuff to have any idea!

I've managed to write with MI#30 today and will get a couple of pens filled with MI#31 very shortly.
It's a blue leaning purple and I didn't see any sheen while writing normally. However, I saw some gold sheen around the edge of the large blot in the Seven Seas Writer Journal.

Edit: I found it washed off of my fingers after only one wash.

Tooth, I'm also a fan of dark purple inks.

Love the color and shading on this one.

Not my finest moments...shaky hands, too, and a reluctant pen.

Very nice color, which goes down dark and stays that way, yet has some red tones. It wrote well in the fine-nib piston pen, and had decent flow when it finally got going.

Perhaps a touch of gray visible in this chroma? And you can see how pink/red it washes out.

PS: It is still on my fingers, and will require a dose of Sailor DoYou to flush from the piston-filler.

Jim: Thanks for letting me play! 🎉

No worries, Yazeh's ink packet is still floating around out there also.

And BTW, for those who don't yet know, Sailor Doyou ink is excellent for removing stains from piston and converter fillers. Just fill up your pen with Doyou ink and write away. When done, rinse with water and the old stain is gone.

    All the Best.

Yes, feathering is a bit of a topic using wet broad nibs.

Hooray, the last ink packet has been delivered today!

The US Federal subsidy for airlines expired last night and approximately 49,000 pilots, flight attendants, ground crew and staff will be getting layoff notices over the next few days. That means fewer planes will be flying. Much (>70%) of the US Post depends on cargo space on these passenger planes to transport our mail across the US and overseas. With the upcoming presidential US elections (much of which will depend on the US mail) and almost immediately after the pre-Thanksgiving day Sales, the next Mystery Ink flights scheduled for November may have to be on hiatus until January. I will continue to monitor the situation and will let everyone know once we get closer to November.

    Stay Safe and Healthy.
    All the Best.

Ok, that´s it with my inputs for MI#30 as I´ve run out of ink with this drawing (all 3 I did were on A3 format and consumed all what was left).

I really enjoyed drawing with this ink, for me it has the right amount of water resistance together with the ability to play really well with water washes.
    Thanks again junglejim

I will wait until the rest of us finished/posted their reviews and will try to guess at that point of time.
Currently I have no real clue which ink it is.

Afterwards I will continue with MI#31 when Jim give us the starting signal.

I really like the colour, sorry for the dodgy white balance on the picture of the writing, I like to test the ink on the back page of my sketchbook, the first few lines are as is, the next set has water added and the third is a smear test, I like to know how careful I'll need to be not to smudge the ink. This ink dries quite quickly so there wasn't really a problem. You don't really appreciate its beautiful colour unless you add water over it though. In my sketche I drew the whole picture durst and then added water wash over the top (and more ink where it needed to be darker). It's a little water resistant which is good, I could still see the lines a little but the water made some cross hatched areas a nice blended look. The pen I used was the twsbi go again (not really my favourite but it's easy to clean). It was quite smooth to draw with but I have no guesses as to what it might be. I'm interested to find out. Thanks again Junglejim I might try one more drawing with this one before I move onto #31.

    Well, then.

This is an odd one, at least for me. It looks darker in the vial than it lays down. Performance on Clairefontaine and Rhodia grid was about equal. It laid down a bit darker on junk paper!

The scan has flattened out all the shades of the chroma, but there was red, yellow, and orange.

I found it very hard to get a good picture showing the actual color of the ink as I see with my eyes, I'm going to try connecting back my scanner to see if I can get a better image. And I'm going to try this ink on some different printer papers to see if there is a difference. But as far as mystery ink 30 goes I really like it
