I’ve uploaded one to my profile but it doesn’t show up on my posts. Likely I’m just missing some obvious checkbox. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Maybe you changed your profile picture but not your avatar?

    To change avatar:

Click forum actions pulldown on menubar below Forum tab.

    From pulldown click Edit profile.

On the left side find the menu group called My Settings and within that group find and click Edit Avatar.

If you want to upload a pic, click Choose File button next to Option 2 at the bottom.

If you uploaded your pic somewhere, get the url to it (must be a url that ends in .jpg, .png, .gif, I believe). Then put url in the Option 1 url text box.

Make sure your avatar image is 80x80 pixels or 19.5kb whichever is smaller.

When done uploading or entering URL, click Save Changes in lower right.

    Hope this helps.
