Opinion Please!

Hello Folks,

This weekend I will be buying a new pen. Since I am a nurse, I want a Conklin Courage in Smoke/Black Fog. I think it's a gorgeous pen, but now I have stumbled on a Montegrappa Elmo in blue that is available for sale here. No comparison between both brands of course, I am going esthetics alone. What do you all think? I have not purchased a new pen in a while and want to make it memorable.

Thank, I don't want it for work. I am only looking at the two I mentioned, but I do love the PVP, I had one of the Blue Carbonesque, sweet pen!

A minor consideration is what can you bear to lose. Pen "borrowing" is always a problem.

How about vintage? Some famous pen companies sold white sets specifically for nurses, some with mercury oral thermometer holder. Esterbrook is best known with several designs, but the Waterman is quite handsome.

FWIW: My Montegrappa Skull has been a scratchy, dry writer even after a trip to the nib meister. I don’t know if that’s a brand characteristic though since it’s my only Montegrappa. I haven’t shot it yet because it just looks so cool.
