It is a mystery, Rob, but I have seen it done before. We had a GP presentation pen that was awarded thirty years after it was made. Perfect condition, of course.

I am interested in knowing about these two nibs. Looks like they are Named after the pen "Golden Swan" Pen.
Does they fit into a MABIE DIP/ PENCIL COMBO DIP PEN??? Anyone have an ideas if they fit any fountain pens???

It's highly likely that those nibs came from versions of the Golden Swan fountain pen. I don't know about a combo but that's not to say it didn't exist.

Yes indeed…Eachan , the only source I could find was Hull ( bless his cotton socks ). And there is a couple of pages referencing The Golden Swan.

Cyril. Biro Swan we’re going to put out a new range of pens in the early 50s one of which was th Golden Swan. They went as far as to even put out full page advertising heralding it’s arrival …..however, ony 100 were made then the whole project scrapped in favour of a cheaper and simpler range.

I hope Stephen doesn’t mind me putting these pics here …..

The nib looks a bit like a Calligraph ! Although the ones I have sometimes have a. C around the breather.

Penamie is generally quite expensive. Nice pen, though.

👋🏻….after studying Minuskin's nib retipping , some of , if not the very best there is I must say !, his style and the quality of his work is quite obvious, however, I’ve not seen all of the retippers work, so it’s possible that it’s someone else’s .

It’s still a very sexy nib . Nibs like this are not hard to come by, I have several very nice stub nibs and they write a lovely , almost italic line.

@Chrissy . Thank you for this post. I have just acquired two Mabie Swans , with Over and under feed. One is with a gold over and under feed and the other is HR as I guess.
The listing did not mentioned any more than Mabie Brown pens ( as they got very brown by oxidising ) the seller had not aware what he is having as a pens as usually. By first glance I went for the "Gold over-and-under feed" which is very rare as I learned. I am waiting to receive these pens this week.

You're right, Cyril. The over and under feed is not at all common. I'd like to see photos when your pens arrive.

    Hi Deb and Cyril!

    Yes, photo's would be great!
I like those ebonite double feeds, even if heat setting them is a delicate task for very relaxed moments...

    Best wishes

I wish someone would find a way to make spare double feeds.
