Vanness and Lemur carry it, but are both out of stock. Amazon is your best bet.
    Vintage. Cursive italic. Iron gall.

No, as 4001 Blue Black is no longer imported to the US. I buy mine from Amazon UK. You can also buy it from Cult Pens and Seitz-Global.

Is Pelikan 4001 Blue-Black safe with latex sacs?

I noticed that Pelican Blue-Black* has a pH of 2.2 and Pelikan 4001 Blue is 2.7, which seems like it might be too acidic to me.

That would be a shame if BB wasn't safe since so many flex nibs are vintage.

Pelikan IG 4001 Blue black works very well in latex sac pens. With latex, you have to worry more about alkaline inks.

    +1

Pelikan 4001 Blue-Black is a great ink for flex nibs and sacs, as are ESSRI and Diamine Registrar's/Akkerman #10.
    It stays blue-black after aging.

If you want the final color to be more blueish, R&K Salix is a good choice. Or R&K Scabiosa as a purple ig.

If the classic type of BB is your taste - the ink starts as blue-black and get's black (or nearly black) after some time - then the strong ig's ESSRI / DRI / Akk. #10 are great. I like those especially for eef or ef nibs.

Vintage pens with sacs and gold flex nibs were made for such inks...

    Best wishes
    Jens

You can usually find it on Amazon.com or eBay.
