    Default Pen collection

    Hi,
I have been given the opportunity to purchase the below collection of pens..
I am relatively new to this so I am just wondering if someone could guide me in the right direction to whether or not any of the below pens would be collectible or worth purchasing ? Your advice is greatly appreciated.

The blue Parker in the box looks like a Parker 51. Those are great pens. However, they are also very common, so don’t pay too much for it

I'm generally not the one qualified to answer your question, but that collection doesn't look very exciting to me. May I ask how much he wants for the whole collection? Also, there are often people on the forum who are selling interesting pens. Sometimes for very good prices because they want to scale down and want them to go to a good home.

    Welcome to the forum.

They look like trash, just like the picture composition/quality. You'd think if you really want to sell them, you would take a nicer picture.

I would pass on this. Very little of value.

and that when Truth and Error have fair Play, the former is always an overmatch for the latter."

The slant top might be a Waterman.

For each pen, it depends on what you're looking for and how much it costs.

One person's trash is another person's treasure.

I certainly wouldn't call a 51 trash. If it's $50 or less and in decent shape it's a reasonable price. They are reliable workhorses with good nibs, reliable filling mechanisms (the pli-glass sacs are tough and last decades, unlike latex sacs).

I used to think like that. Alas, I've got cynical in my old age and more often expect to find an Italian school syringe filler under such a cap.

There's a Parker 25 there as well I think, in the first photo. It's not the best of Parkers but it has its fans. Worth? I don't know but I've seen them go from EUR 15-25.

I don't think this is a "listing", but rather the OP's picture.

I would guess that the whole lot might be worth 35€ to 40€. If you can get the whole bunch and there really is a complete pen in that parker box you should do ok.

Nothing interesting for me there, except the P51, as long as it´s in good shape.

35 euros for a 51 is a good deal as long as it’s in decent shape.

I’ve attached some images of the pen. It has “made in England” stamped very lightly on the body of the pen.
Purchased for 30€ is the pen correct era to box ?

Ooooh, that's nice. Now get a little water in a glass tumbler, and just see if squeezing the filler results in the pen filling with water. If it does, a few squeezes to clean it out, fill up with ink and you'll be good to go... 51s are not quite indestructible but they are very close!!

No idea about the box but sure looks like a good buy. The cap seems not too scratched up. Let us know what you think of it once you get it cleaned and inked.
