Default New guy here, from poortugal

Hello people, I am such a noob, you folks gotta help me out. I ordered a Lamy and got a rhodia pad. What am I in for? I though it would be a good idea to just get one pen and a bunch of nibs. Did I screw up?
Also, where do kewl EU boys order from?

Welcome. You might need more than one pen to use different nibs in. Different ink colours in each pen?

    Some ideas for EU boys:
    Appelboom
    Cult Pens
    La Couronne du Comte

Lamy makes a good pen at a good price and it's way cheaper to get various nibs for it than lots of different pens.

Safaris are great edc pens (I have a Petrol) and if the nib comes out of the box in good tune they're quite nice. Some of mine came misaligned or needed minor smoothing but were good after. I also have a Studio which uses the same nib.

With fountain pens you can spend however much you want . It is easy to go down a rabbit hole and spend a fortune on inks and pens. Pro tip: buy ink samples not bottles.

Sounds like you did good. Welcome!

To our Forum. Well you can get Lamy in any local stationary shops. In Germany I would suggest go to Hugo Hamann. Else there is a lot of online options.
    For example:
    https://www.fountainfeder.de/
Steffi is the owner of FountainFeder and she is really friendly, helpful and have really good collections in her online store.

And the nibs and pens I would suggest try more inks and papers first then move towards the pens, nibs since they are more expensive.

I'm curious to hear what you think of the CP1. I thought about getting one. Actually I would still consider it.

The Studio is just too heavy for me and the polished grip is too slippery especial given the weight. It's too bad because I think it looks amazing and it writes very nicely. If it were about half as heavy with a plastic grip it would be one of my favorite pens.

Buying *one* bottle of ink is no mistake, totally reasonable. (I like several de Atramentis inks too, by the way). It's when, like me, you buy dozens of bottles and realize your ink collection is more than a lifetime supply and the money you could've saved would've helped buy that grail pen...
