I'm an old retired guy. A couple years ago I came across a calligraphy set that my wife bought decades ago. I played with it a bit and liked how the pen wrote, not like a ballpoint at all. Before long I was perusing E-bay, looking at pens. I risked a couple dollars on a no name Chinese pen, and was surprised that it wrote really well. Then, I saw a pen made of clear plastic for two dollars, and I had to have one. Then it was pretty Baoer 801 for less than two dollars. Then a red aluminum no name copy of a Lamy. Now, I'm up to eight pens with four more on order.
I've spent less than $25 for the whole bunch, and had a lot of fun. I've learned a lot and even done some nib tweaking. I'll never be a big time pen collector. In fact, I keep saying that this is my last pen purchase. One pen that writes well is all I really need. But, they are addictive.
I appreciate all the informative posts I've seen on this forum. I doubt whether I can add much, but I will try to be a good member.
