Updated: fixed nib, and reduction.
The Tibaldi Transparente is one of the three Tibaldi pens, alongside the
Impero and Iride, from the 1990s that were the high water mark for the
modern era of the company.

The Transparente's claim to fame is the transparent reservoir in the
barrel. Showcased between stunning blue, green, red, and grey celluloid,
the viewable window is quite rare, with only three other pens having the
feature (the Iride and the Omas Lucens and Extra Lucens are the others),
as the non-pigmented celluloid took a much longer time to cure.
The Transparente is a big and girthy pen, slightly larger than a Vacumatic Maxima,
and heavier; a hefty amount of swirling celluloid colours, with tasteful gold furniture.

This pen is in excellent condition: the gold furniture is untarnished,
and the celluloid is clear and vibrant. The piston works smoothly and
draws a full fill (water tested).
The 18k nib, stamped Medium, however does require tuning. When I dip
tested the pen (see the writing sample/verification), it wrote
exceedingly wet and wide. A loupe inspection of the nib revealed that
the tines were misaligned and the slit too wide at the tip. This should
be a simple exercise for a qualified nibsmith, but not something I would
entertain doing myself. I have priced the pen to factor this work in.
The tines have been realigned and the nib now writes a wet medium line.
The pen, number 877, comes with the original box and papers, including
the "butter dish" presentation tray.
