Default Broken lower barrell - any source for parts? (mont Blanc)

Somehow the barrell broke when I went to detach the cap - don't think there was any undue stress put on the pen but who knows.

I see replacements on ebay but am leery - any way to buy a genuine part to replace?

It looks like the nib part has threads, if so, it isnt damaged - its just the plastic barrell.

You might contact Shawn Newton I. Arkansas, to make you a new barrel like he is doing for my Retro 51. Abondonza

Contact FPG member Aurore. A number of classified advertisements for modern Mont Blanc 149 parts have appeared, including a barrel still listed in the For Sale classifieds.

Thanks for the replies. What is that part called? I tried unscrewing the nib part, but seems stuck on there pretty good. Is this a "149" pen? Need to go look for paperwork that came with it.

I reached out to Mont Blanc as well and they said send it in but seems like a lot of effort - rather just buy a replacement part.

if you send it into Montblanc they will replace the broken part, its part of the service fee they set.

Thanks - any idea how much that is? Guess its like sending in a rolex, basic price and they tune it up.

Aurore has listed some parts for a 149 and a 146.

However in the event that this is authentic, it is a Classic 144. I'm not 100% sure it's authentic, but even if it is you can't just go and buy a new section somewhere.
Montblanc will be able to supply one if it'a an authentic pen. Therefore you get two things from them: a brand new section with it's nib correctly fitted inside it and a guarantee of authenticity.

You will need to send them the complete pen. They will need to look at the cap if it's a 144 as their internal clutches become loose. If that has happened everything will be replaced for the level 1 service charge and the cap will fit snugly onto the section.

Alternatively, Osman Sumer in Germany gives excellent service and I know for a fact he has a large collection of MB spares.

You might find this part on ebay. usually around $50 to $60. Montblanc will charge more, $80 last time I used them, but they will replace anything broken, but I don't think that would include the nib. If there's anything wrong with the feed, MB would replace that. What's in the section assembly is the section, nib, feed and the trim ring, which is adhered to the section, and sometimes comes off. The trim ring coming off caused me to send a 144 to MB service, because I couldn't get it back on, and it holds the cap on.

I have a few of these pens in black and red.
