    Welcome to the forum.

    I think people are assuming that the desired return on "investment" is monetary. I think pens are a great investment because the return in utility and enjoyment can easily be much greater than the monetary outlay. Of course I don't know your intentions.

    I'm sure I've "made" money on a couple pens but not nearly enough to offset the "losses" from all the others in my collection. Fortunately, the hobby isn't about making money and can be enjoyed in many other ways.
