    Default Experience with Namiki Maki-E?

Looking at a Namiki Maki-E pen, the following specifically

    https://www.iguanasell.com/products/...xoCPeUQAvD_BwE

Does anyone have any experience with these pens? I know that this is not hand painted, but is screened on. However, I do like the image. Can anyone speak to the quality and the writing experience of these pens?

They write just like other Pilot fountain pens. They are multi screen examples and so while not as expensive as either studio or single artist examples pretty nice.

If it's the artwork, definitely nice for the price. Writing performance wise: They write as well as a Custom 74, same #5 nib. Personally, I like the larger nibs. Still dreaming of a #50 emperor.

I have the Yukari Grapevine. Exquisite artwork. Perfect F nib, writes with laser precision. Smaller pen though. The Yukari Royale dimensions are better - objectively speaking. But I wouldn’t like to miss this gorgeous piece. They are grand. Both to look at and to write with.

That is great to hear Linger! I wonder how this pen that I have included in the link compares with the grapevine and Yukari Royale in terms of dimensions. Thank you!

I think the Nippon Art and the Yukari are the same size, and the Yukari Royale / Urushi #20 a size bigger (and the Emperor / Urushi #50 again a (noticable) size bigger than that).

The emperor ones are amazing but super expensive!
