So.....all ink written, scribbled, painted...... nothing left.......all used up.

    My personal verdict:

Both inks perform really well on different papers, so no complains here.
Both were really nice to write with.
    I used MI#32 in a Montblanc 342 - EF and MI#33 in a Lamy 27 - F
MI#32 showed a little more water resistance than MI#33 which is not water resistant at all.
MI#32 has more shading capabilities than MI#33.
I liked MI#32 more to draw/paint with as it has a greater achievable tone value range then MI#33.
MI#33 was better to draw than MI#31, in general It‘s easier with a darker ink.

This round was again fun to participate and I enjoyed seeing all the inputs and tests of the other participants.
In these difficult times when many things which we took as granted before are currently not possible anymore, a hobby like ours, playing around with pens and inks which we still can enjoy and focus and which can be used as anchor and balance point is getting even more important.

I hope my inputs were also interesting for the others, I tried to use the inks with different techniques, styles and motives to show it from different angles and aspects.

Guesses are difficult, and guessing red inks feels IMO always more difficult than other colors.

    My guesses are:
    Private Reserve Ebony Green
    Robert Oster Direct Sun

Jim thank you very much for sending me the inks, thanks also for hosting once more the game for us, this is highly appreciated. 👍

    Good evening to everyone!

It's now time for the ink reveal of our two Mystery Inks!

Mystery Ink #32 is from the land down under (Tasmania) and is Van Dieman's Styx Valley Forest Green. I use it in place of Pelikan Edelstein Olivine for QA/QC Reviews at work since Olivine is no longer available.

Mystery Ink #33 is a plain ink that most people no longer think of when they want a red. It's been around for a long time and is plain old Sheaffer Skrip Red. I like it because it seems to work on just about any paper I throw at it, from Tomoe River to el cheapo lowest bidder copy paper. Great for doodling with during boring Zoom meetings (as long as no one can see what you are writing.)

Well, that's it for now. I would like to thank all of you who participated in this Mystery Ink session and hope you all had fun with it! I would like to wish everyone a Safe and Healthy Christmas and a prayer for a much better 2021 New Year.

    Take care.

    All the Best.

Thank you for letting me participate and hosting these I hope to be able to do more in the future. I absolutely love both these inks but 33 was better than 32 in my opinion even though it wrote drier. Stay safe.

Ptero I'm still trying to draw something that I'm not embarrassed to post but I'm still giving it a try and working at it every day

I tried doing an ambulance and a fire truck since I stare at them all day long and it looked worse than a 2 year old drawing. I might just do the fire or star of life logo, probably fire since its red instead of blue but green could work for star of life

IMO people tend to be too critical about their own drawings.
Sharing your work with us, don’t be shy 👍
I would like to invite you to participate in the Art Gallery thread.

Just a new idea come into my mind.
Why don’t we start in the Art and Calligraphy section a new Thread dedicated to practicing sketches, work in progress, showing also quick sketches and doodles?
A kind of „Sketches, Doodles, WIP, practicing Area“ thread.

This lowers the entry hurdle for new people which might be concerned otherwise to show their practicing work and their progress.
At least for me the possibility to show it to somebody (back in the days contributing at the dark side in the „Don’t just tell ... show..” thread ) was really helpful to stay motivated and keep writing/drawing.

This new thread could also be used to get feedback of others (if wanted), or that we quickly sketch something together,.....
In general I think we have too less contributors in the Art section of the board.

    What do you think?

Wow....I never would have guessed either ink! The green ink was difficult to clean out of the Wing'S 3007, and left a faint stain on the clear feed and section.
My other pen is a Montblanc.

And my other blog is a tumblr!

I was wondering if any one had problems cleaning Skrip Red from their pens?
I sort of forgot the ink in my pen and it dried off. The pen was Noodler's Nib Creaper.
I've soaked the feed twice in pen cleaning solutions and for days in water and the water still turns pink, albeit now is a faint shade.
I was wondering if any of you experienced this?

I just cleaned my Wing'S 3007 of this ink. I'm lazy, so I just let it sit in water overnight for a couple of days, flush, then repeat. There may still be a faint pink tinge, BUT I only use this pen with pinks and reds.
