    Only briefly.

I've been spending more time over there than here - more input from members - but in truth both sites are suffering from lack of excitement at the moment, IMO natch.

Weren't you extremely vocal how unsatisfied you are with FPN a year or two ago?

Edit: I don't really have a horse in this race. I've been subjected to assholes on both forums.

True, but I don't participate much on FPN these days, mostly just reading, and the same goes for FPG. There just isn't the engagement there anymore.

BTW it's not a crime to modify your opinion on something.

No, no, that's fine. I'm just wondering what made you change your mind?

It's really just me looking for information. As long as I don't overly participate I won't get dragged into pointless arguments. That goes for both sites. However, both places feel a little barren right now.

ps. actually I am a bit of a fraud. I've always suffered from a kind a proxy gear acquisition syndrome - that is, I hear/see/read about people being enthusiastic about something and get a strong urge to make purchases on that basis alone. Most often this occurs with items that I have no way of assessing in hand. Most of the time I am disciplined enough to stave off the feeling and keep my money, but there have been quite a few exceptions in the pen domain and elsewhere. I see it as a mild form of mental illness, and definitely a character defect. Despite knowing the dangers I still have to live in the real world, I cannot divorce myself from the stimuli entirely. Tricky balance.

Itˋs also up to you to change this, please feel free to entertain us. 😜
I would be happy to see more content/information/participation here from you.

Can’t remember when I saw your excellent handwriting here last.

Perhaps, but most people here are not that interested in stuff I post, and it gets tiring having to think up new things... and why should I be the one to do it?

My handwriting has gone really bad lately, like I don't have the fine motor skills anymore.

I know how tiring this can be.
I donˋt think that most people here are not interested in your stuff.

Most of the time a minority of always the same bellyachers complain and nag, but they are perceived prominently as the majority only read.

And most of the time exactly members of this nasty minority adds next to nothing to the community regarding content, ideas and creativity (beside bashing the content provider and creative guys).

If I would have taken these guys seriously I would have had stopped participating here already several times.
Best is to just ignore them (but I‘m also still in the „learn to ignore them completely“ phase). 😜

Answering your question in the bolded part ... because you're good at coming up with questions that are intriguing.

And I do not say that lightly or flippantly. I *tried* to come up with a question or topic that can be interesting or engaging, that can get others to think along, and I came up blank all the time.

All I can think of posting is about pens that I restore, I can see *those* being super boring to others, but I just can't come up with engaging question or topics like you often posted.

The pens that you restore are certainly not boring to me. They, and items like them, are the main reason I'm here. I love your drawings too, so unique to you and full of character.

I don't look to FPG to be the reason I get out of bed in the morning. I don't look for it to be a Twitter-feed of pen-related topics. I don't expect every member who comes here to be the Most Interesting Person on the Planet at that moment.

I just like there there is a fairly large clot of humans that I like who happen to share a similar interest, and on the better days, there are a bunch of interesting posts. Being human, I readily expect that there will be quiet periods and downtimes.

When I"m with the best of my best friends in real life, I don't worry if, while we are sitting around the table, things go quiet for a while. In that quiet is thought.
    "When Men differ in Opinion, both Sides ought equally to have the Advantage of being heard by the Publick;
and that when Truth and Error have fair Play, the former is always an overmatch for the latter."
