Well, one good thing about Baltimore is the Baltimore-Washington International Pen Show run by Bert Oser of Bertram's Inkwell. Camden Yards is a cool place to be on a summer night (before Covid). A plate of oysters on the halfshell in a neighborhood bar is worthwhile. Baltimore is where I was first bitten by the fountain pen bug.

these are also true. my FP bug was in remission for 20 years but flared up real bad when I lived there. I did biz with Jim Rouse (PBUH) when I was still a 2-pen guy.

But the University is not in Baltimore. I perceive it as being closer to Washington, but perceptions vary.

Besides, at my age, i am invisible to hotties.

    That's in College Park Maryland.

While Baltimore has decidedly gone downhill in recent years, the city surely has redeeming qualities. I submit that the op's ire is misplaced and it is in fact the US Postal Service that is deserves it. And well deserved it is. We are still waiting (as of today, December 2) for a priority package that was mailed on November 20.

You understand my frustration, pain and anguish...
Theres no acceptably logical reason that mail service should take this long in the United States of America.
It is a broken system if it persists in this fashion.

Sure do. Earlier this summer we bought a "robot" lamp for our son via Etsy. The estimated delivery time was 3-4 weeks but it turned in to 3 months! Granted, it came from Hong Kong, but still. We tracked it closely and watched it arrive in the US within a week. It subsequently sat in California for two months before it moved, taking another two weeks to get to us in the Midwest.

This kind of thing didn't happen before Covid 19. I don't know why Covid has caused this stuff, but I have seen packages seem to swirl around the Detroit area for a while until they suddenly arrived.

OMG!! That is the EXACT SAME THING that's happening to me right now!!!
    This is insane!!
I asked my wife if she would be okay with me going all the way to Baltimore and hunting down exactly where my packages are, she said it wasn't a good idea considering the pandemic and the high levels of infected in that city (We live way out in the mountains to the west). I don't know what is the best method to follow at this point.
I've lost patience....I cannot force the issue...The USPS doesn't give a rats ass about my packages.

I am a victim of this system.

That sounds as bad as Russia when covid first stuck. They were just warehousing ALL mail to North America for three months. I can't imagine the mess that created and it was probably a last-in-first-out situation too. I was collecting Soviet watches and hanging with others of the same persuasion, that's how I came to know and experience that.

Until recently Covid had become the excuse not the reason. It'll get worse though. My wife works for a hospital and they're freaking out about a projected 2-3 fold uptick in cases on the near horizon.

Oh lovely...just received a text saying that USPS left notice on my front door as no one was home to receive the pen.
Good...at least I can reach out and touch the local USPS worker if they continue this trend of denial-of-service.
I'll be leaving work early today...

In Canada because of COIVD they leave all packages at the door....whether you are in or not. Unfortunately, apparently 1/3 of packages are stolen... I honestly wonder why would people want to that...but these are the times....

So....I left early to go have a face-to face with the local usps representative. She claims that the pen will now be delivered to my mailbox tomorrow now that I've signed their little form.

So...as I predicted, the pen will arrive on the one friggin day that I have to be somewhere all night and won't have a friggin chance to even open or see it until Saturday morning...when I've been here all friggin week with nothing going on...waiting for ANY of these stupid ass packages to arrive.

I friggin knew it was going to happen like this...I just knew it. I should have bet money on it....

As they say, bad planning on your part does not necessitate an emergency on my part.

Yeah...bad planning on their part shouldn't be an emergency on my part.

There was no notification that it was being delivered today.
The last message I received regarding the pen stated that it was "In transit to the next station".
Then BOOM..."We tried to deliver to you but..."
    Inconsistent bastards.

Those exact words happened to me when the Conway Stewart from Deb was in transit from Scotland. It stayed in Chicago for weeks then boom, it was here. I didn't have to sign fortunantly. I sure hope you enjoy. Deb knows pens.

    Finally...she has arrived!
After writing with her, I'm impressed...
I was a bit concerned that the pen is shorter than my middle-finger, but she makes up for it when posted.
Buttery smooth fine flex nib and using regular flowing ink, she doesn't dump ink onto the page when flexed!
Shading is also AMAZING! I have never gotten "lion rock" to shade properly in any of my Penbbs pens, it just flows too readily in them with FPR nibs. But in this Swan pen...it's perfect!
    I'll post pics...
