    Default Hello, Everybody

I’m new here, but I’m not so new to the world of fountain pens. Although much of my work has to do with computers and I’m enjoying it, writing with fountain pens has always given me a shortcut toward detachment and introspection. Being kind of familiar with quite a few brands and models, I somehow prefer mid 20th century european brands.

Among my favorites are a 1934 Pelikan 100, a 1937 Pelikan 100N, a 1951 Pelikan 400, and a 1972 MB 149... IMHO, they are masterpieces of design and engineering. I keep them in flawless working condition and use them almost every day. They are among the finest “writers” I’ve ever come across.

As for inks, my favorites are R&K Scabiosa and Diamine Registrar’s among iron gall, and Pelikan Violet, Ruby, Royal Blue and Smoky Quartz among “plain” inks.

To put it short: Hello Everybody, it’s great being here!

Welcome! Those sound like some truly fine pens (alas I've yet to experience these models).

    Greetings from New York City.

You have some nice pens. Those 1930s Pelikans are great writers.

We have similar tastes, although i also have a weakness for the American classics: Duofolds, Dorics, Balances, Watermans... the usual suspects. I tend to use blue black a little more these days, but i recently finished a bottle of Scabiosa.
