There is one on UK ebay at present, hence my post.

What would you pay for it ?

Personally I thought around about £150 mark

I sure that most of us in the UK know the seller...
The Bexley 51 went for £123.10. Was almost tempted myself (being without a 51 for the forseeable future), but the material just doesn't do it for me.

ps, I have no idea who the seller is.

I am looking for a used copy because it would be closer to my budget. Can you briefly clue me in on the errors?

Used copies rarely appear and they seem to run close to new.

First error, T isn’t for Toronto.

I thought the "T" code was an issue. We know now that it is tractor, but did the author definitely say the other, or was it written as speculation?

Know where the T is for Toronto came from and knew Saul quite well...said politely, it was speculation.

I actually got very lucky buying that pen. I was talking to a fellow collector (not a dealer) who had advertised some pens for sale. We got talking and that was offered and I was happy to buy it. The price is a little sensitive I am afraid. There are some Brad Torelli pens for sale in the US on a website if you are really keen!

    da vinci,

A great many thanks for your reply.

I have never considered buying a Brad Torelli P51 FP before.

I did actually read up on him after your mention here.

He is clearly a remarkable person.

    http://torellipens.com/gallery.html

Then I looked at the pens that he has made and prices asked.

I now see why you did not answer the price paid question...........

    As an side..........

About 2 years ago I bought a couple of AK Pearl swirl shells from Michelle ( penpartsstore ) in one of their rare ' firesales ' for £36 delivered, UK VAT included

Built up this rather nice pen.

Hardly in the same leaque but I like it.

    da vinci,

Many thanks for your kind comments.

I have a few AK pens.

    This is the Snail pattern.

Nb - is the Green pen / silver cap in your photography an AK Palm pattern ?

Proteus, I am not sure about the pattern or maker on the green/metal pen. It is in a bamboo design which is difficult to see properly due to my poor photography! It is different to the palm barrel which you have photographed very well

Whilst building up some P51AK's I came across pieces that were problematic.

Given the assembly of experts here I would like to know what can be done to overcome the issues.

The first problem involves two Parker Vac’s barrels

The orange plug inserts have left plastic inside the barrel threads.
I have tried combing them out to no avail.
The orange plastic is very hard and is almost fused to the inner shells.
It is not possible to completely screw in a filler & diaphragm.

The second involves very inaccurate screw machining ( the Palm barrel on the left side of the image )
The Snail barrel is fine, it accepts a standard Aero barrel.
I would like confirmation that the only way to correct this issue is to have re machined.
I do not consider this a viable option give the cost involved.

    Thank you in advance.

The barrel seems to be missing the recess at the leading edge.

I’ve also noticed some of these are made to fit a Special or late Standard connector, not an Aerometric proper.

Or you find a way to retool the threads.
